Case Studies

REPower Systems AG

Consuta Training Ltd was asked by Power blades ( the blade manufacturing division of RePower) to assist in the development of a training programme for their German and Portuguese factories. The German programme consisted of taking employees with some knowledge and developing their skill and competence. Whereas the Portuguese programme was to develop a training programme to be implemented as the factory came on stream.

Consuta's Blade Manufacturing competency programme was used as the backbone of all the development, this was implemented in both factories enabling the German facility to step ahead of the Portuguese. Associated with this was a method of exchanging practices and ideas from one factory to the other thus implementing best practice across both sites

During the programme area's within both factories were set aside for the development of a training area where the employee's could go to assist in their improvement of knowledge and competence.

Consuta Training received the following positive comments:

PowerBlades German Production manager “You gave us a lot of hints, advice and ideas to set up our training school. All the best for the future.”

PowerBlades Portuguese Quality Manager “Thanks for your support during this time”

Lola Composites

Lola Composites

Consuta Training was brought in to assess and deliver the current workforce at NVQ L2. We used the Polymer Related Processing Operations Resin Infusion and Prepreg awarded by Skills Assurance Services Ltd. The workforce was 50 in number and ranged from little or no skill to 30 years experience, and included people with learning difficulties and ethnic minorities.

The programme was delivered under the Employer Training partnership (now called Train to Gain) over a 12 month period, at the end of which the workforce achieved NVQ L2 accreditation. This was celebrated with a presentation by the owner Martin Barain.

Candidates said after the programme that they now not only have a greater understanding of the composites industry and their roles within it, but that they did not realise the extent of the knowledge that they already had.

The Lola Production Manager, in praise of Consuta Training, said "one small suggestion you made has reduced our scrap by 5%".

The overall impression from the company was one of satisfaction with the way in which the Consuta Training programme was delivered. Lola are currently looking at enrolling more candidates.
